At first I thought it was only females who just enjoy talking about themselves but now I know everyone does that.
Everyone wants to talk and be listened to. Rare are the few who could just listen and listen and still maintain focus.

Often times, people would ask you, "how're you? how's your day? " and other similar questions without really meaning to hear you out and empathize with you afterwards. And when the other person speaks and the topic doesn't interest you much, you'd change the topic to something you enjoy talking about.

Come to think of it...it's kinda selfish. No?
