-- 10 Things Your Fitness Club Won't Tell You -- (Page 1) - AOL Money & Finance
I hate fitness clubs and gyms. First, they look like medieval torture dungeons. Second, pay good money to exercise? It's so against nature it feels downright wrong!
Here are more reasons to hate fitness clubs.

Keiko's Homepage

Are you less then 35 years old and a cute looking white guy? (Preferably American or European) You can get free lodging in Tokyo, Japan and have sex with a hot Japanese chick! Just contact 'Keiko' at her homepage linked above!

Seriously! My first thoughts were, "is this for real?" And then reading the emails 'Keiko' received and her response my conclusion is, this is either a prank or some sort of social experiment. Her 'Engrish' sounds too artificially concocted and the whole tone of the blog is humorous.

Good for a laugh or two anyway...I sure hope this isn't real...nobody's that shallow...right? Right?!

Rules from Bill Gates?
I don't think so! The following is supposedly in a speech given by Bill Gates to high school children but as with all forwarded e-mails, the claim is highly doubtful.
Nevertheless, the speech contained a list of 'harsh truths' about life that makes for interesting reading:

Rule 1:
Life is not fair - get used to it.

Rule 2:
The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3.
You will not make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone (a car phone??! what is this? the fifties?-Kenny) until you earn both.

Rule 4:
If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

Rule 5:
Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a
different word for burger flipping - they called it opportunity. (I don't think a young William Gates ever flipped burgers- Kenny)

Rule 6:
If you mess up, it's not your parent's fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7:
Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they now are.
They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites your parent's generation created, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8:
Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This does not bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9:
Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10:
Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs. (Damn TV! I wanna live in a sitcom!-Kenny)

Rule 11:
Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

Pics of a Malaysian Mall during Christmas 2006

Last weekend Gary came down to KL and lent us two of the Motorola i880 2 megapixel phones to play with. He designed the flexible circuit boards in those high tech toys so he's proud to show them off. These are phones running on the IDEN network so they aren't sold here in Malaysia (yet) because there aren't any providers for such a service (yet).

Nevertheless, we did get to check out the walkie-talkie function and thus spent the rest of the afternoon with the phones in our pockets at Midvalley Megamall. Needless to say, Alan, Jacky and I were soon exchanging foul words while apart. Hopefully we didn't get offend any passers-by within earshot. I did get some dirty looks while at the ATMs though.

Here are just two of the pictures taken with the i880 phones...

ERRATA: Okay, Gary corrected me...the phone is the Motorola i885, not i880.

The Beatle's Across the Universe
This is a Fiona Apple cover of one of my favorite Beatle songs. I kept listening to the amazing lyrics when my mother was in her death bed. It was so calming.

If you pay attention to the details in this Fiona Apple music video you'll be wondering how the heck they execute all the special FX.

In case you're wondering what the 'Jai Guru Deva, Om' in the chorus means...

Another One Goes By
Christmas is almost upon us, then followed by the whole holiday season of New Year and the even more unbearable Chinese New Year.
It's been so long I forgot since when I started loathing the months of December, January and February.

Looks like this time will be just like the last time around...dreaming for someone special when in fact I have nobody.

Perhaps I should avoid the malls because those places are filled with well dressed lovey dovey couples holding hands smiling and feeling alive.
I feel dead.

You see, I want a hand to hold...I want *her* hand. My thoughts always led to her and I can't seem to escape the fact that I wanted her but I shouldn't.
I struggle to hold my feelings back and try to look for temporary distraction. However, that results in over-eating and binge spending. All subconsciously committed.

Why did I spend so much time with her? Because I enjoyed her company and attention. It feels great doing nice things for someone you like.
Is that such a wrong thing?
I guess it is wrong when I'm such a lonely person and I really shouldn't play with fire despite all the warnings from friends and my reasonable mind.
Ah! But the heart is the strongest muscle in the body!!
.
.
How do you stop a heart from longing?
How do you be a good friend to someone, and keep being a good friend only, when you have strong feelings for that person?
None of this would be a problem if that person doesn't already have a boyfriend.

Sometimes I get male-PMS. At least that's the excuse I would like myself to believe. The reality is, whenever I realize I cannot be with her and she was just flirting and it all meant nothing...that I wanted something to exist there, but I was mistaken...
I get a temporary anxiety attack and moodiness.
I would feel so ugly and unattractive. After that, I would feel extremely embarassed and guilt ridden for showing that side of me to people so undeserving of my spoil sport attitude. I'm very afraid that God is showing me I don't deserve love if I keep being so ugly.

Usually I would apologize. Still other times I don't even know where to begin!

A part of me thinks that distance from the person I so achingly lxxe is what I truly need. Yet another part of me thinks that it is a cowardly act. Often I find avoiding that person necessary.

No matter what, I am truly grateful for the time spent with her. I don't care if it'll last forever or not (though I wish for the former!) but my life is enriched a little bit more whenever I'm with her. I hope she knows and appreciates that much!!!
